HOLY COW

I now understand what other parents have been telling us since we got pregnant about babies growing up so fast. It isn't a metaphor--- this little fella of ours is literally growing up right before my eyes. The other day, Julian woke from his afternoon nap and was peacefully playing in his crib. I took this opportunity to get some winter clothing out of his closet for our trip to Nebraska (don't laugh at me, i know it will be in the 70s there and that i am gonna freeze my bum off!!!). So I didn't have my back to him for more than 2 minutes and what did i see when i turned around?! The little guy holding onto the side of his crib STANDING!!! How i managed to keep my cool and not scream out in shock and scare him I have no idea. He stood for a good minute or two before dropping to his knees. Boy was he satisfied with himself. Since then, he has been using me as a personal play-gym and scooting over to me and using me to first stand then he climbed over me. It takes him about 5 or 10 minutes to work his way from one side of me to the other but man does he have fun with it!!!

You comment made me think of how funny some kids on campus look, when they are all bundled up in heavy winter coats, when it is like 30 degrees outside. Hope the wheather is wonderful, plus this week it is supposed to be in the 70s all week!
